Take Action: Say ‘NO’ to industrial nickel mining and protect wild salmon

Rivers like the Smith and Rogue are home to some of the Lower 48’s strongest remaining wild salmon and steelhead runs. Yet right now, industrial companies are trying to bring toxic nickel mining to 17,000 acres of pristine streams and rivers.

Industrial-scale nickel mining would damage these places for generations through strip mining, air and water pollution, and habitat destruction.

The most concentrated collection of Wild and Scenic rivers in the continental U.S. deserves strong state and federal protections. Industrial pollution from proposed mining threatens access to clean drinking water and the well-being of local businesses that rely upon a thriving outdoor economy. More severe droughts and wildfires make Oregon's clean water even more precious.

Now is the time to act. Join us and defend the Smith and Rogue Rivers, salmon strongholds, from Southern Oregon to Northern California. Add your name today.
